In the village of Montepagano, we can admire several buildings of enormous historical and cultural importance. First and foremost, the absolute protagonist of the main square is the square-shaped bell tower of the ancient Church of S. Antimo, which was demolished in 1876, and today only a few traces of masonry remain. The bell tower has undergone various vicissitudes mainly due to natural phenomena, but it has remained the symbol of the village in all its majesty.
The bell tower, built in the second half of the 15th century, presents a square base with sides of about 5 meters and a total height of about 40 meters, and it features a door facing Corso Umberto I. The top part of the tower presents a structure with square corners, slightly narrower than the previous body, which houses three bells. The last section is octagonal in shape and has elongated round arch openings, above which there are single windows. The spire, rebuilt in 1962, is framed by eight columns with square bases and topped with a copper globe and a cross. It is still one of the most interesting bell towers in this part of Abruzzo.
