Did you know that the largest wine barrel in Europe is located in Roseto degli Abruzzi? Imagine a barrel capable of holding a thousand hectoliters of wine, which is more than a million one-liter bottles!
This incredible wine giant made its appearance during a tasting exhibition back in 1905, leaving spectators breathless with its size. If you are a wine lover, you absolutely cannot miss this extraordinary gem!
The barrel is located inside the Mazzarosa Winery. The villa and its surrounding park exude timeless elegance. In the past, this colossal creation held a thousand hectoliters of oenological nectar, equivalent to over a million one-liter bottles. The imposing structure of the cellar, rough yet powerful, was conceived by Senator Giuseppe De Notaris, its previous owner of that time. The barrel surprised and enchanted the public with its size and its contents. It’s no wonder that the wine expert who tasted the wine exclaimed, “They will soon hear about it!”, unsettling the French producers.
