Portorose, the tourist port of Roseto degli Abruzzi

Portorose in Roseto degli Abruzzi is a small tourist port located south of the city, just a few kilometers from the center. The port provides a convenient base for yachtsmen visiting the Adriatic coast and was built in the 1960s when the “Carlo Vallonchini” Yacht Club was founded.

In 1967, the club organized the first edition of the Roseto-Spalato motorboat race, which later became Roseto-Spalato Makarska following the twinning with the Croatian city of Makarska.
